Frequently asked questions
Are you accepting new clients?
Yes (8/1/2026)
What type of clients do you work with?
I work primarily with queer/trans* individuals and couples, as well as individuals and couples impacted by substance misuse/addiction.
I enjoy working with couples in general. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
When do you see clients?
For in-person sessions, I am available only on Tuesdays each week.
For telehealth, I am available each Monday.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes! I offer online sessions each Monday.
What is the cost of therapy?
My current rate is $200 for individuals and $250 for couples/families.
All services are self-pay (not covered by insurance), although you may be eligible to submit a superbill to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement. Please contact your insurance provider to confirm how to submit a request for out-of-network coverage before the first session.
You will keep a credit card on file through a secure site (Stripe) that will be billed on the day of service after your appointment. You may also be able to use a health savings card for session fees, depending on your insurance.
Each client will receive a good-faith estimate, so you know the cost of services before receiving care.
Why self-pay?
Self-pay allows you to participate in therapy privately, without the restrictions that insurance companies may impose on the process.
Because I see therapy as a collaborative process, it’s essential that you have total freedom in how often you come in, what you discuss, and how you focus on the most critical problems. This also means that any information, including diagnoses or other health information, cannot be accessed by your insurance company unless you provide it via a superbill or other documentation.
Some insurance companies still allow out-of-network benefits. If this is the case for you, I create a monthly statement (called a superbill) that includes all the information you need to submit. I do not submit these documents for you. You may also be able to use a health savings account, a flex spending account, or other similar cards to pay for billable services.
What should I expect from the therapy process?
After completing your complimentary consultation call and intake documentation, our first session will review the process and your history and answer any questions you have.
The first 1-4 sessions allow us to build the therapeutic relationship and see if we fit well as therapist and client. If we agree to move forward, we will pick a designated time to meet, set treatment goals, and review them upon completion or every 3 months.
As you progress toward completing goals and we mutually decide that therapy is no longer needed, we will discuss a plan for stopping treatment.
How often will I come to sessions?
This is up to you. I recommend that the first three sessions (the intake process) be as close to weekly as possible. Afterward, we work together to create the best plan for you. Most of my clients have appointments every two weeks.
How do I get started?
Your first step is to schedule a time for your free, no-obligation 15-minute phone consultation so we can figure out how I can help you.
